A couple came in to interview us about photographing their daughter’s upcoming wedding. This was the second daughter to get married. I inquired as I always do, as to why they weren’t using the same photographer they had hired for the first wedding.
The reasons given are almost always the same. They were going to save money on the photography, after all, anyone can use a digital camera and they got a disk and the album and it was all less than $3,000. The photographers had not been in business long, but their stuff looked pretty good and they worked out of their home so it was how they kept the costs low.
On the wedding day the photographers were dressed in less than proper attire, they were rude to the family and guests, it took forever after the wedding to get anything the family had paid for and the photographs we less than what they hoped for. In essence the family felt they had thrown away their $3,000.
That is the difference between investment and cost. A cost is disposable and temporary, like an airline ticket, a nice meal, or bad wedding photography. Investment is something that grows in value as time goes by, friendships, family, education, or property… and of all the costs involved in your special day, your memories are one of the most important investments.
The perfect wedding collection is one that is made especially for you. Most of our clients tell us they know so little about the whole process of choosing the perfect photographer, they don’t even know what questions to ask. Many say they feel neglected by photographers that just throw their schedule and pricing up on the internet leaving them alone to figure out what it is they would really be getting for their investment. We want to assist you in this process, helping you to understand what you need to know.
You will meet with our wedding professionals for a personal consultation so you can see the products we offer and get a thorough explanation of the special services we provide. Investments run from $1,000 to $7,000 with the average day coverage ranging from $2,500 to $5,500.
